I've played with EDO, just, and non western scales but mostly without rigour. Looking forward to eventually using it on a Polysynth when I get one, but I'll probably gonna try it out in a DAW beforehand with some soft synths. Having some reverb or delay going on can give you more insight into how it may sound polyphonically. I haven't actually done more than a few sequences, hence the monologue being only monophonic, but it's a really inspiring way to find new sounds, thats why I wanted to recommend it. This should make it awesome for minor music, with just a few more added colors to get your ears into new tunings, as well as keeping some familiar intervals. It seems to have similar notes as 12TET and even has a nearly pure minor third. Just Intonation/Pure Minor/Pure Major does sound a lot more elegant to me, assuming the piece stays mostly in one key.ġ9EDO is a way of spreading the Octave into 19 equal steps, instead of 12 as we have in normal equal temperament on most instruments. Recently, since I've got my Monologue, I've been digging more into microtonal scales and other ways to build octaves. Has anyone ever tried producing or composing music out of 12TET?
